Larry David, co-creator of "Seinfeld" and creator of the long-running comedy "Curb Your Enthusiasm," is set to star in a new sketch comedy series titled "Life, Larry And The Pursuit Of Unhappiness." The show, which takes aim at American history, is produced by the Obamas and features a notable list of guest stars.

The series uses American history as its backdrop, with the title being a play on the phrase "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" from the Declaration of Independence. David's signature themes of social awkwardness and his semi-improvised comedic style are expected to be present, similar to his previous works.

One of the sketches reportedly features David as a man attempting to kiss a nurse in the iconic VJ Day celebration photograph, only to be labeled a "pervo-Nazi." The series explores whether there are any historical settings where David's character can find happiness.

Barack Obama is confirmed to appear in one of the sketches, and a trailer also featured his appearance. The guest cast also includes Jon Hamm, Jane Krakowski, Sean Hayes, Kathryn Hahn, Jerry Seinfeld, Vince Vaughn, and Isla Fisher. The series is set to be released in 2026.

David concluded "Curb Your Enthusiasm" in 2024, but has quickly moved on to this new project. The show is described as having American history as its playground, with the production by the Obamas not being a mere name-only involvement.
