Kyle Sandilands has reunited with longtime colleague Jaimee 'Mayo' Blazquez, appointing her as executive producer for his new subscription program, "Kyle Sandilands Live," set to launch on August 10. This move marks a significant step in Sandilands' effort to rebuild his media empire following his departure from ARN.
Blazquez, who worked with Sandilands for nine years on "The Kyle & Jackie O Show," announced her new role on Instagram, sharing photos from the "Kyle Sandilands Live" set. The studio features large "King Kyle" artwork and branded merchandise. "I have loved working with Kyle for the past nine years and am looking forward to continue working with him on this new venture!" Blazquez stated.
The appointment comes after Sandilands announced in June that he had rehired several former staff members who were made redundant after "The Kyle & Jackie O Show" concluded. "I probably did [rehire staff] out of guilt but also because I like my crew and I want to make sure they're okay," Sandilands said at the time, noting personal circumstances of his former team.
The reunion has been met with positive reactions from fans and former colleagues. This development follows reports of a new docuseries titled "At Home With Kyle," which is expected to offer a behind-the-scenes look at Sandilands' career shift. The miniseries, filmed by Sandilands' production company, is slated for release on his own platforms.
"It is a very different side to Kyle that you are going to see, quite a humble Kyle," stated Bruno Bouchet, Sandilands' manager, regarding the docuseries. "Kyle Sandilands Live" is described as a subscription-based show featuring an ensemble cast without ads or censorship. Sandilands announced the new venture after settling a legal dispute with ARN, where he agreed to accept $12.09 million of his initial $85 million claim. His previous show on KIIS FM was cancelled following an on-air disagreement between Sandilands and his co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson concerning astrology.
