Kyle Sandilands has been seen in public for the first time in weeks following a significant settlement with the Australian Radio Network (ARN). The radio shock jock was photographed in Camden, posing with fans at a local Italian restaurant, marking his initial public appearance since resolving a legal dispute with his former employer on June 16.
Sandilands, 55, was pictured greeting staff at Buon Appetit restaurant in Camden, with images shared on Facebook. He appeared in good spirits, dressed in designer wear including a Ralph Lauren puffer vest and a Gucci cashmere scarf. His visit to Camden, an outer suburb of Sydney where he has previously purchased property, is unexplained, though his former show, "The Kyle & Jackie O Show," previously held a giveaway for a Camden home in 2022.
This sighting follows recent activity suggesting a potential new business venture with axed "Today" host Karl Stefanovic. This week, websites "kyleandkarl.com.au" and "karlandkyle.com.au" were registered to Sandilands' company, King Kyle Group Pty Ltd. Further domain registrations by King Kyle in 2024, including "themorningmen.com.au" and "morningmen.com.au," also hint at a possible collaboration between Sandilands and Stefanovic, 51.
"It is something they've been talking about for a while," a source close to the duo told The Daily Telegraph, adding that Sandilands has maintained contact with Stefanovic since his recent departure from Nine.
Sandilands' settlement with ARN came after his $100 million radio contract was terminated earlier this year. His KIIS FM show was cancelled following an on-air dispute with co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson concerning astrology. The settlement included $1.5 million in advertising for Sandilands' future media projects over three years, a 19.9 percent revenue share for ARN from these ventures, and a nine-month restriction on Sandilands working with radio competitors.
Meanwhile, Jackie 'O' Henderson is proceeding with her own legal action against ARN over her $100 million contract. Her Fair Work claim, launched in April, is set for a court battle on October 12, with an interlocutory hearing scheduled for August 24.
