Radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands has publicly stated he has made a multi-million dollar offer to Karl Stefanovic to join his new radio network.
Sandilands confirmed the offer on Thursday, indicating he proposed a two million dollar deal for Stefanovic to host an afternoon drive show on his subscription-only Kyle Sandilands Live network. "I said if I give you two million dollars, would you do Monday-Friday drive?" Sandilands told news.com.au. "He said, 'I'll f**king sign that right now,' but I didn't even have a pen… and it's just an idea at the time."
Sandilands' offer comes as Stefanovic, 52, has been notably absent from his YouTube podcast, "The Karl Stefanovic Show," for the past two weeks. The podcast's official Facebook page has also been deactivated, leading to speculation among fans and industry observers.
Stefanovic was reportedly dropped by Nine, his former employer, following a controversial interview with pundit Tommy Robinson in June. He then launched his own podcast. However, recent weeks have seen no new episodes, with the last video uploaded on August 24. Fans have expressed concern on social media, inquiring about his whereabouts and the status of the podcast.
According to reports, Stefanovic's absence may be linked to the end of his sponsorship deal with clothing brand Ringers Western, which reportedly chose not to renew their agreement. Stefanovic himself has not posted on his personal social media accounts in over a week, though he was recently featured in posts from his wife, Jasmine, during a group outing.
Sandilands, who recently settled a lawsuit with his former employer ARN and reportedly has over $12 million in his bank account, expressed confidence in Stefanovic's career moves. "Karl is very clever. He hasn't lasted this long … he is like a cockroach. Through all the implosion of Nine and all that stuff," Sandilands said. "He knows what he is doing."
Stefanovic's business partner, Keshnee Kemp, has not publicly addressed the podcast's hiatus. Efforts to reach Karl Stefanovic and Kemp for comment have been made.
