The highly anticipated subscription service Kyle Sandilands Live was forced to cancel its Friday broadcast due to significant technical issues, marking an embarrassing end to the shock jock's first week back on air. Paying subscribers were unable to access the show as producers attempted to resolve a "major technical meltdown."

In a video message shared on the broadcaster's app, executive producer Jaimee 'Mayo' Blazquez and newsreader Brooklyn Ross apologized to fans for the platform's failure. "We were scared this day might come," Ross stated, adding that Sandilands was "very stressed right now."

Blazquez expressed devastation over the technical problems, saying, "We're so sorry that the tech has failed us today because the show that we had planned would have been incredible." The team explained that after multiple unsuccessful attempts to get the broadcast operational, they decided to abandon it to avoid further frustrating listeners.

"We've tried a few times, and I think we're just going to upset you more if we keep coming back and then disappearing again," Blazquez said. "So we've decided today to not take the show to air."

Subscribers, who paid $99 annually for access, were assured that the team would work over the weekend to fix the issues before the scheduled return on Monday. "Monday we'll be back with new equipment, because we've ordered everything, and hopefully we don't have these issues again," Blazquez added. Notably, Sandilands himself was absent from the apology video.

Earlier in the day, updates shared via the app acknowledged the problems, with one message from "Mayo" stating, "Hi KSL team, apologies for the technical issues today. We are working to fix it ASAP!"

This latest setback caps a tumultuous opening week for Sandilands' new independent venture. The debut episode on August 10 was also marred by glitches, leading to an emergency shutdown and a hard reset shortly after 7 a.m. The team had openly addressed the rocky start, even humorously titling Tuesday's episode "Hopefully today's better..."

Kyle Sandilands Live represents the radio veteran's return to broadcasting following the dissolution of KIIS FM's The Kyle & Jackie O Show and his subsequent settlement with former employer ARN. The current technical failures place immediate pressure on the new platform to deliver on its promised content.
