Kristin Chenoweth, the Tony Award-winning actress, recently marked her 58th adoption anniversary with a deeply personal tribute to her adoptive parents, Junie and Jerry Chenoweth. She shared a series of intimate photographs and heartfelt reflections on social media, celebrating what she affectionately calls her "dubbed" her "gotcha day."

Chenoweth, 58, was adopted as a baby just five days old and was raised in Oklahoma. She expressed profound gratitude for the life her parents provided, writing, "I'm so blessed and grateful for this beautiful life they gave me. I love you mom and dad!!"

Among the shared images were snapshots of her parents supporting her throughout her career, including backstage at Broadway shows and at her annual Kristin Chenoweth Broadway Bootcamp, a summer intensive performance program for high school students. One particularly touching photograph captured her parents reacting to her wedding dress on the day she married musician Josh Bryant in September 2023. Another showed her parents posing with her, wearing T-shirts emblazoned with her name, in support of her program in her home state.

The actress has consistently been open about her adoption story, having previously shared in a 2015 essay that she "always knew" she was adopted and that it was "never a secret or held from me." She recounted how her parents explained her adoption by saying, "We chose you," a sentiment she found to be a "wonderful way to put it to an adopted child."

Chenoweth also reflected on her relationship with her biological parents, noting that while she has learned "a little bit" about them, her primary identity is rooted with her adoptive parents. She expressed gratitude to her birth mother for her sacrifice, stating, "I know that I came from love, and I know that I have love."

Chenoweth also included an adorable picture of her and her mom posing beside an almost life-size photo of herself

Looking ahead, Chenoweth stated that if she were to have children, she would "100 percent" choose to adopt. While she does not have children living with her, she feels she fulfills a nurturing role through the many young people she mentors and supports. She concluded her thoughts by encouraging a community-wide commitment to caring for children, whether through parenting or volunteering time and love.
