An orange kitten has become an internet sensation after being rescued from a piece of construction equipment by a team of workers in Barberton, Ohio. The kitten, who was found trapped in a Komatsu excavator, has since been adopted by a member of the crew and named the company's official 'shop cat.'
Chase Guello, a supervisor at River Reach Construction, discovered the mewing kitten inside the excavator. A video of the rescue, which shows the kitten dropping from the bottom of the machinery, was shared online. Guello and his colleagues named the cat Sue, after the brand of the equipment where she was found.
After searching unsuccessfully for Sue's mother, the construction crew took her to a local cat foster family for medical attention. The brand Komatsu has since sent Sue a gift package, including a miniature hi-viz vest and a hard hat, which the crew has shared photos of online.
River Reach Construction posted a statement on Facebook expressing gratitude for the support shown to the kitten. The company announced that Sue would be cared for by Jared, the shop mechanic, and has been hired as the official 'shop cat.' The construction team has continued to share weekly updates on Sue's progress with their followers.
The story gained significant attention online, with social media users commenting on Sue's new role. Many shared humorous suggestions for her job title, such as 'new Supurrrrrvisor on-site' and 'cuteness coordinator.'
