Kim Kardashian is embracing her past struggles with the bar exam in a new humorous advertisement for her energy drink, Update. The ad, shared on her Instagram page, playfully addresses her previous failure to pass the legal certification test.

In one scene, Kardashian is depicted sitting inside a glass box, reminiscent of a museum exhibit. As passersby question whether she passed the bar, she confidently responds, "No. I didn't pass the bar. I raised it." The visual highlights her entrepreneurial spirit, contrasting her academic results with her business acumen.

The advertisement also features Kardashian at a press conference, fielding questions about her ability to accomplish so much. She uses the opportunity to steer the conversation toward her energy drink, Update, stating, "Caffeine just wasn't working and working is my thing." Another segment shows her in a lab setting, introducing Update as "formulated by a team of leading experts - none of whom are me."

Kardashian, who co-founded Update with Daniel Solomons and the Hess family, has been promoting the drink as a functional beverage. The product was relaunched in February and is available on platforms like Amazon and in Walmart stores. Update is described as containing paraxanthine, a natural byproduct of caffeine metabolism, and is formulated without sugar, artificial flavors, or calories, using research-backed ingredients.

Speaking about Update to People magazine, Kardashian emphasized the drink's focus on "feeling good. Focused, balanced, and productive without the jitters or that crash later." She views the beverage as part of a holistic approach to wellness.

Kardashian publicly announced her failure to pass the bar exam, which she took in July 2025, in November of that year. At the time, she expressed her continued dedication to becoming a lawyer, stating, "Six years into this law journey, and I'm still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up - just more studying and even more determination." She noted that she was close to passing and that the experience served as motivation.

Despite the setback, Kardashian graduated from her law school program in May 2025. While sources suggested she might not retake the bar exam immediately this year, insiders indicated that she still intends to pursue it in the future. In the interim, she has been concentrating on other business ventures, including her SKIMS brand, and has been involved in producing television projects.
