Kim Kardashian Awarded Symbolic 1 Euro in Paris Robbery Case

A Paris court has awarded Kim Kardashian one euro ($1.15) in compensation for the 2016 armed robbery in the French capital, an amount that matches her symbolic request. Kardashian, along with her stylist Simone Harouche, sought accountability and recognition for the traumatic experience, rather than substantial financial restitution.

In a joint statement, Kardashian and Harouche expressed gratitude to the French justice system. "The experience was deeply traumatic, and its impact has stayed with us. Today’s decision is not about the compensation, but about accountability and recognition," the statement read. "We are thankful to the Court and everyone who supported us throughout this process, and we hope to now move forward and continue to heal."

The court also awarded 109,516 euros ($126,472) to a former receptionist at the Hôtel de Pourtalès, where the robbery occurred. The hotel itself received 50,000 euros ($57,741) in compensation.

The incident took place on Oct. 2, 2016, during Paris Fashion Week. Robbers disguised as police officers forced their way into Kardashian's suite, tied her up, and stole more than $6 million worth of jewelry, including a valuable diamond ring. The celebrity described the event as "the most terrifying experience of my life."

Eight individuals were found guilty for their roles in the robbery. Due to time served in pretrial detention, none of the convicted individuals were sent back to prison, and none appealed the verdict. Kardashian had previously stated her commitment to advocating for justice and promoting a fair legal system following the conviction of the perpetrators.
