Actor Kelsey Grammer recently stated that he believes former President Donald Trump will eventually be recognized as one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history, a comment that drew significant criticism online. In an interview with LBC on Monday, Grammer, known for his roles as Dr. Frasier Crane, was asked if Trump would be viewed as one of America's best presidents.

"I think in hindsight he probably will - because nobody really stood up for America in quite some time in the presidency," Grammer, 71, replied. He further praised Trump as a leader who "loves America" and does not shy away from confronting critics, stating, "He says if somebody comes at him, if they come at him with hate, which they really have done, he just sends it right back at them. And I think that throws them off."

Grammer, identified as one of Hollywood's more outspoken conservatives, also noted a shift in his own political perspective over the past two decades, mentioning that he once would have voted Democrat but that "some things have happened over the last 20 years that changed [his] mind about that."

Public Reaction

Grammer's statements quickly generated backlash on social media platforms, including YouTube and X. Many commentators contrasted his political views with the intelligent and eloquent characters he has famously portrayed. Some users suggested that Grammer's on-screen persona was a product of writers, implying his real-life opinions lacked substance.

"Never confuse the actor with the character. Frasier was the smart one," one user commented. Another expressed surprise that Grammer, who built a career playing intellectual figures, held such views. "A buffoon," was another descriptor used by a detractor. Some labeled Grammer a "deluded" and "rich selfish right winger."

Other responses focused on specific criticisms of Trump's presidency. Commenters cited policies and events such as the war in Iran, inflation, bypassing Congress, the Epstein files, and trade wars as reasons why Trump's legacy would not be viewed positively. "Waging a war of choice in Iran, causing mass casualties, and spiking inflation isn't 'standing up for America,'" one user wrote, calling Grammer's assessment a "delusion" and predicting history would see Trump's tenure as a "disaster."

Some users on X expressed disappointment, with one stating it took "just 5 seconds to lose all respect for someone." Others described Grammer's remarks as "dumb and clueless" and characterized Trump as "horrible and pathetically obsessed with being the center of attention."
