Singer Kelly Clarkson publicly called out a Brooklyn store, Art of Play, on Saturday, alleging that employees treated her as if she could not afford to make purchases, drawing a parallel to Julia Roberts' character in the film "Pretty Woman."
Clarkson detailed her experience on X, formerly Twitter, stating she visited the store with the intention of buying items but was met with a dismissive attitude. "I was looked at as if I couldn’t afford it and was told he could find something comparable for me," Clarkson wrote.
She directly addressed an employee, calling the individual "an idiot" and stating, "just lost a huge sale." Clarkson concluded her post by recommending the store to others who "enjoy being treated like Julia Roberts’ character in Pretty Woman."
Art of Play, described on its website as featuring a "unique collection of magical home goods, puzzles, games, toys and books," was called "one of the most beautiful shops in New York City." The store also has a 26-seat theater for magic performances.
Page Six reached out to Art of Play for comment but received no response.
