Reality television personality Kelly Bensimon described a recent head-on collision that left her briefly unconscious and both her and celebrity chef Andrew Molen hospitalized.
Bensimon stated she was "lucky" to have survived the incident, which occurred when an oncoming vehicle struck the Uber carrying her and Molen. The impact was severe enough to deploy airbags and send the car spinning. Bensimon reported experiencing significant pain, hitting her head on the seat in front of her, and briefly losing consciousness. She also expressed concern over an injury to her right arm.
Molen recounted witnessing the other vehicle approach at high speed without any apparent braking before the collision. He described the violent impact, noting that Bensimon was thrown, he hit the ceiling, and dust filled the car from the deployed airbags. Molen also sustained injuries and was forced to cancel professional engagements.
Both Bensimon and Molen required ambulance transport and hospitalization following the crash.
This incident follows a period of significant health concerns for Bensimon, who underwent surgery less than a year prior to remove ruptured breast implants and awaited cancer test results. She described that time as "really, really difficult."
