Reality television personality Kelly Bensimon, 58, is recovering after sustaining injuries in a head-on collision in Sarasota, Florida, on Monday. Bensimon, a star of The Real Housewives of New York City, was a passenger in an Uber when the vehicle was struck by another car on Tamiami Trail.

Bensimon reported that she was knocked unconscious for a few seconds during the crash and was taken to a hospital. She described her injuries to Page Six, stating her "right arm is a mess" and that her "head went straight into the back of the seat." She also underwent a CT scan and X-rays.

"I am totally out of it, I am in so much pain," Bensimon told the outlet. "My head went back and banged [Andrew] on his chin. There were makeup marks on the airbag."

Celeb chef Andrew Molen, 44, who was also in the Uber, was hospitalized with neck injuries. Molen stated that the other vehicle did not appear to brake before impact and "came straight in at full blast." He added that the collision caused airbags to deploy and that "dust [was] everywhere."

Both Bensimon and Molen were assisted into ambulances following the incident. Molen has canceled five work events to focus on his recovery.

Bensimon and Molen were in Sarasota for work obligations. Bensimon, who is also a real estate professional, had been working at an open house, while Molen had catered the event and was demonstrating kitchen functions for a digital lifestyle show they are producing titled The Chef and the Housewife. The show aims to highlight elements of ultra-high-net-worth living through food, entertaining, and design.

Bensimon expressed gratitude for Molen's presence and for those who assisted them, writing on Instagram Stories, "It has been an intense 36 hours @andrewmolen so thankful for you and that we are safe and for all who helped us through this moment."
