Keke Palmer will take over hosting duties for NBC's "The Voice" for its upcoming 31st season, marking a change for the long-running singing competition. Carson Daly, the original host and producer, will be replaced for the celebrity-themed season that is currently in production.

Palmer, an actress and musician who has released three studio albums, confirmed the news on Instagram. "I am hosting The Voice. I'll see you guys there!" she announced. NBC released footage of Palmer on set, with the network stating her "creative range, bold authenticity, humor and heart epitomize the one-of-a-kind season."

In addition to Palmer's hosting role, Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers will serve as a coach for "The Voice: Celebrity." Returning coaches from season 30, Queen Latifah and Riley Green, will also head up the celebrity edition. The competition format, created by John De Mol, will feature celebrities from various fields, including actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, and comedians, participating in the blind auditions and battle rounds.

Palmer is no stranger to hosting for NBC, having fronted the game show "Password" since 2022. She is also set to reprise her role as Samira Fisher in the second season of Peacock's "The 'Burbs" and has upcoming acting roles in "The Angry Birds Movie 3" and "Spaceballs: The New One." Her schedule also includes hosting her podcast, managing her KeyTV Network, and running her fitness app, Practice by Palmer.

Daly, who has hosted "The Voice" since its inception, will remain involved as a producer for the celebrity season. He also continues his role as host of NBC's "TODAY," "The Daly Download," and serves on the board of Project Healthy Minds. Daly, 53, is married to cookbook author Siri Pinter, and they have four children.

Social media users expressed mixed reactions to the hosting change, with some excited for Palmer's new role and others saddened by Daly's departure. Many commented on Palmer's busy schedule, noting her multiple ongoing projects.
