Keenan Allen Charged with Drunk Driving in Indiana

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen has been formally charged with two misdemeanor counts related to drunk driving, according to court records unsealed Tuesday.

The charges stem from an arrest on August 30, when police stopped Allen in downtown Indianapolis. Authorities allege he showed signs of impairment during the investigation. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office stated they were awaiting laboratory results to make a formal charging determination following the incident.

Allen faces one count of operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more, and one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was taken into custody shortly after 1 a.m. and released later that afternoon. A mugshot taken during his time in custody appeared to show red, glassy eyes.

Allen signed with the Colts on August 18, after spending the majority of his NFL career with the Chargers. He participated in the Colts' season opener on Sunday, catching six passes for 32 yards in a loss to the Ravens.

Attempts to reach Allen's attorneys for comment on Tuesday were not immediately successful.
