A juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial stated that a lone dissenting juror's focus on the quantity of blood found in the victims' bedroom led to an 11-1 hung jury. Paula Devlin, who served on the jury, told the Daily Mail that this holdout juror expressed concern that there was "too much blood for the wounds that she had."
Devlin explained that when questioned by other jurors, the holdout did not elaborate on his reasoning regarding the blood evidence and its connection to the case. She noted that while the majority of the jury communicated well, the dissenting juror frequently spent breaks watching videos on his phone or speaking with his wife. He also expressed frustration when other jurors spoke out of turn during deliberations, reminding them to be respectful and listen to each other.
Lindsay Clancy was accused of strangling her three young children to death in their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in October 2022. She then allegedly attempted suicide by jumping from a window. The trial resulted in a mistrial after the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict.

Another juror, Kellie Farina, had previously shared her difficulties with the holdout juror, stating he had "the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children."
