Production for a third film in Taylor Sheridan's acclaimed "Sicario" franchise is officially underway, according to actor Josh Brolin. Brolin, who portrays CIA operative Matt Graver, confirmed in a recent interview with ScreenRant that "Sicario 3" is happening and that production is expected to commence "soon."
The original "Sicario," a dark and gritty thriller focused on drug cartels, was released in 2015 and was followed by a sequel, "Sicario: Day of the Soldado," in 2018. Both films featured Brolin and Benicio del Toro. The franchise has been a significant contributor to Sheridan's rise as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
Whispers about a third film have circulated for some time, but concrete information remained scarce until Brolin's recent confirmation. Thad Luckinbill, a producer on the first two "Sicario" films and star of Sheridan's series "Lioness," also indicated the possibility of a new installment in a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, stating his hope to "do another one for the fans."
