Jonathan Cheban, a long-time associate of the Kardashian family, has relocated from New York City to Los Angeles. The move comes as Cheban, also known as Foodgod, pursues new business ventures and embraces what a source described as a "new beginning."

Cheban was recently seen in Malibu on a Thursday evening, departing from the Japanese restaurant Nobu. Khloe Kardashian was hosting an event at the venue for her new Hulu reality show, "The Girls: A Khloé Kardashian Project." Cheban's presence at the event, coupled with his California tan and relaxed demeanor, signaled a shift in his life.

A source told the Daily Mail that Cheban is "living in Los Angeles these days and loving it," adding that he is "working on several new brands and may pop up in a new reality TV show."

The relocation contrasts with the challenges facing New York City, including a significant homeless population and high cost of living, with soaring rents and consumer prices. New York City also imposes a local personal income tax in addition to state taxes.

Sources indicate that Cheban finds Los Angeles to be "nicer, it's cleaner and cheaper and easier to get around." He reportedly enjoys the weather and the abundance of dining options, aligning with his persona as "Foodgod."

Cheban's career began in the public relations field in the 1990s. He met Kim Kardashian in 2008 and subsequently became a recurring personality on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and its various spin-offs. He has remained close with the Kardashian siblings, including Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe.

In recent years, Cheban has expanded his entrepreneurial endeavors to include food-related businesses such as Foodgod Fresh, a meal delivery service, Restaurant Imposters sauces, and Cold Case Ice Cream. He has also been involved in other ventures including a clothing line, a restaurant, and a lifestyle website.

Kim Kardashian has previously commented on her friendship with Cheban, noting on her sister Khloe's podcast that maintaining friendships can be challenging with children. She stated, "Jonathan and I are good. Here's the thing, I had kids... It's really hard to maintain friendships when you have kids and you're like in it... Jonathan is not going to come and sit around Calabasas all day. He's like always on the move."

Cheban himself has expressed that his primary need from his friendship with Kim is simply her companionship, stating in March 2025, "I don't want anything from her, I don't need anything from her... We've been friends for 15 years and I don't ever want to have any issues - connecting her with a guy or connecting her with business. I don't need anything except her friendship."

Cheban has also been seen socializing with other public figures, including Ivanka Trump in Las Vegas in December 2023 and Melissa Gorga and Margaret Josephs at an event in 2025. He has also appeared on reality television shows such as "Celebrity Big Brother" in the UK and "Celebs Go Dating."
