Fashion designer Jonathan Anderson, known for his work with luxury brands like Dior and his own label JW Anderson, has launched a new collection with the Japanese retailer Uniqlo. This collaboration brings Anderson's signature clean, modern aesthetic and elevated fabrics to a more accessible price point, offering wardrobe staples that aim to look richer than their tags suggest.
The collection features a range of items, including 100% cotton jeans in various washes, designed with a high-waist and a barrel-leg silhouette. According to the notes, these jeans are available in waist sizes 22-34. Anderson's approach to denim in this line emphasizes elevated basics, with some styles featuring embroidered logos on the back pocket and a mid-rise fit that has been observed on fashion editors.
Also featured in the line are updated button-down shirts, including a cropped style made from lightweight fabric that drapes elegantly. These shirts can be layered for different seasons. The collection also includes a unisex blazer made from a "lightweight, stretchy and quick-drying high-performance material," described by one shopper as "amazing quality."
Other pieces include denim shirts, noted for their "perfect 'boyfriend' fit" and exceptional quality, as well as striped shirts and variations in solid colors. A newer addition to the line is a button-down style with a rounded collar and subtle gathered detailing at the back. Some items, such as a light blue cropped Oxford shirt, are currently available at a reduced price, alongside other styles from the collaboration.
Anderson's recent prominence in fashion was highlighted by his design of Taylor Swift's wedding gown and Travis Kelce's tuxedo, a role that brought him increased attention. His ongoing partnership with Uniqlo allows consumers to access his design sensibility through a collection of elevated essentials.
