Jon Lovitz has responded to Crystal Hefner's recent characterization of him as Playboy Mansion's "No. 1 customer" and "one of the biggest pervs" in Hollywood. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday night in Los Angeles, the comedian, 69, called Hefner's label a compliment and praised the late Playboy founder, Hugh Hefner.
"Any time someone says I’m No. 1, it’s a compliment," Lovitz stated, according to Fox News. He added, "Hugh Hefner was one of the nicest, most generous people I’ve ever met, and all of his friends know it. That’s all I have to say about that."
Crystal Hefner made the remarks about Lovitz on the "Lisa Guerrero Unleashed" podcast. She described the "Saturday Night Live" alum as a "lurker" at the Holmby Hills estate, claiming, "He would be up there all the time. His eyes would go front to back [looking at] all the women that walked through the door at the party." She also recalled Lovitz's dog "peed all over the place" during parties.
Crystal Hefner, who was married to Hugh Hefner from 2012 until his death in 2017, has spoken extensively about her experiences at the Playboy Mansion. In other interviews, she has discussed strict rules within the mansion and her feelings of being "brainwashed" during her marriage. She also mentioned that celebrities were treated exceptionally well at the mansion, with notable figures like Bill Maher and Berry Gordy being frequent guests. She also claimed Jack Nicholson treated the mansion like a "drive-thru."
Lovitz, known for his roles in films like "Rat Race" and "The Benchwarmers," was a frequent guest at the Playboy Mansion during Hugh Hefner's ownership. He and Hefner shared a long-standing friendship.
Hugh Hefner died in September 2017 at the age of 91. Crystal Hefner, who was 60 years his junior, had a complex relationship with the media mogul, beginning their romance when she was 21 and he was 84. They were engaged in 2010, briefly called off their wedding in 2011, but married the following year.
