Comedian John Bishop has canceled his upcoming tour dates in the United States and Canada after suffering a broken ankle in a motorbike crash. Doctors have advised him against flying, forcing the postponement of his "Here's John Bishop" shows scheduled for October.

Bishop, 59, shared the news in a video posted on X, expressing his disappointment and showcasing his medical air boot. He explained that the requirement to wear the boot for six weeks prohibits him from undertaking long-haul flights.

"I've got to cancel the tours I was gonna do in Canada and America in October," Bishop stated. "This is a message to apologize to everyone that we've had to cancel it for obvious reasons I'm not able to fly. But hopefully we're gonna reschedule the dates and let you know when we can do them again."

The comedian was scheduled to perform in New York, Boston, Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto between October 15 and October 25. He added that he was "gutted" to miss the shows and looked forward to rescheduling.

This is not the first event Bishop has had to withdraw from due to the injury. He recently pulled out of a charity bike ride for Prostate Cancer UK with Olympian Sir Chris Hoy. Bishop explained that the accident occurred during a motorbike ride with astronaut Tim Peake. "I learnt a lesson today – astronauts are better motorcyclists than comedians, and so it looks like I've broken my ankle," he said at the time.
