ESPN announcer Joe Buck revealed intimate details about the wedding ceremony of pop superstar Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, which took place on July 3 at Madison Square Garden. Nearly a month after the widely publicized event, Buck described Kelce's emotional response during the vows and his reaction to seeing Swift walk down the aisle.
Buck, who attended the wedding with his wife Michelle Beisner-Buck, recounted the experience on the 'Starkville' podcast. He noted the length and emotional content of the vows exchanged by Swift and Kelce. "Travis was a puddle watching his nieces come down the little ramp that they built," Buck said. "And then when she [Taylor] walked out, he was a puddle."
He described the ceremony as a "pinch-yourself kind of night," mentioning the presence of numerous celebrities and artists. Buck shared anecdotes about sitting near prominent figures such as Brad Pitt, Scarlett Johansson, Hugh Grant, Paul McCartney, and Tom Hanks. He also had a conversation with actor Tom Cruise, which he described as a highlight of the evening. "It was 1000 people, legitimately," Buck said of the guest list. "It was pretty surreal and the star quality, obviously."
Despite the star-studded guest list and musical performances, including what Buck described as watching Paul McCartney perform "I Want to Hold Your Hand" publicly for the first time since 1964, the wedding ceremony itself was the focal point. Swift and Kelce, who have not yet released official photos from the event, wore Christian Dior Haute Couture, and comedian Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. Buck humorously remarked on the lingering sense of confidentiality surrounding the event, stating, "I still feel like we're supposed to be in the NDA mode."
