The New York Jets conducted a kicking tryout on Wednesday, reportedly including former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker. A source confirmed Tucker's presence at the team's Florham Park facility, adding another name to the Jets' ongoing search for stability at the kicker position.

The Jets have experienced significant turnover at kicker recently. The team claimed Blake Grupe off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts on Monday, following underwhelming performances from Jason Sanders and Cade York during training camp. This move came after veteran kicker Nick Folk departed in free agency to sign with the Atlanta Falcons.

Tucker, a five-time All-Pro during his tenure with the Ravens, was released by the team following accusations of inappropriate behavior during massages. While no legal action was taken against him, the NFL suspended Tucker for 10 games. His performance in his final season with Baltimore in 2024 saw him make 22 of 30 field goals and miss two extra points, a decline from his earlier career success.

This is not the first time Tucker has been evaluated by teams following his suspension. The New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts both held tryouts for him last season, with the Saints ultimately signing Cade York and the Colts opting for Blake Grupe.

The Jets are set to open their season on September 13 against the Tennessee Titans, and the kicker position remains a notable area of concern for the team. The tryout also featured kickers Michael Badgley and Josh Karty alongside Tucker. The Jets brought in former Ravens kicker Justin Tucker for a workout on Wednesday.
