Average earnings in Jersey saw a real-terms increase of 1.2% for the year ending June 2026, failing to keep pace with the island's 2.8% inflation rate, according to new figures released by Statistics Jersey.

This real-terms pay increase is lower than the average annual rise of 5.6% observed over the preceding five years and also slightly below the long-term annual average of 4.2% recorded between 1991 and 2025. The Index of Average Earnings report for June 2026 details these findings.

Over a 12-year period, average earnings in real terms saw an increase of 0.9% in the private sector and 2.9% in the public sector. However, a longer-term comparison over 25 years shows a decrease of 3% in real-terms earnings in the public sector, contrasted with a 1.2% increase in the private sector.
