Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has publicly refuted claims that he is taking sides in the team's competition for the starting quarterback position between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders.

Recent social media activity, including a viral video clip, suggested Jeudy had indicated a preference for Watson, who wears jersey number 4. However, Jeudy stated on his X account that the video was edited to create a false narrative.

"Yall cut the clip perfectly for that narrative," Jeudy posted, directly addressing the video's apparent manipulation. He further clarified his stance, stating, "I don't speak on decisions that aren't mine to make. I support my teammates/Brothers, I do my job, and control what I can control."

Jeudy expressed frustration with the spread of misinformation, writing, "Lmao yall just be lying so much for what??" He added, "Let's stop creating narrative that aren't there for likes and clicks. I bet this won't go viral because it's too positive/real for y'all."

Watson missed the entire 2025 season due to a second surgery on his right Achilles tendon, an injury he sustained in the 2024 season. He is currently in the final year of a fully guaranteed five-year contract worth $230 million.

Sanders, a second-year player from Colorado, took over as the starting quarterback midway through the past season, starting seven games. Head coach Todd Monken has previously offered praise for both players, noting that Sanders has "really come a long way" and that Watson's "athleticism shows up."
