Rapper-singer Jelly Roll, while guest-hosting ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Monday night, delivered a roasting monologue targeting former President Donald Trump, focusing on his weight gain and past comments.

Jelly Roll, who has publicly documented his own substantial weight loss journey, quipped about Trump reportedly gaining 14 pounds, bringing his weight to "almost 240." He contrasted this with his personal achievement of losing 300 pounds, humorously stating, "That means I've lost an entire Donald Trump."

"And let's be honest, based on his approval ratings, it seems like most of the country wants to do the same thing," Jelly Roll added. The artist, born Jason Bradley DeFord, shared that he reached his goal weight of 265 pounds last November and aims to lose an additional 40-50 pounds.

After playing a clip of Trump referring to others as "fat pigs," Jelly Roll remarked, "Well, if that ain't the pot calling the kettle fat." He then directly addressed Trump, saying, "Mr. President from one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important. And trust me, you'll be happy to see your penis again." He elaborated on his own experience, noting the surprise at seeing his own body after his weight loss.

Jelly Roll also mocked Trump's appearance at the NTT IndyCar Series Freedom 250 Grand Prix last Saturday, where the former president waved a green flag. "The President seemed to enjoy the indie car race, which was a real switch up for him because normally he only likes his own race," Jelly Roll joked.

The comedian's remarks drew surprise from some viewers online. Comments on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" YouTube account expressed confusion, with one user asking, "Wait, hold up. Isn't Jelly Roll MAGA?" Another user agreed, stating, "Um wow I was not expecting him to trash talk trump." Others found the monologue humorous, with comments like "LOL this was funnier than I expected" and "I think Jelly Roll did a great job. Hilarious!"

This contrasts with Jelly Roll's past statements. In 2024, he described a "powerful" encounter with Trump at the UFC 309 event, stating on the "Dumb Blonde" podcast, "There's not a chance in hell I'm not going to meet the president-elect." He also expressed that he would have met with President Joe Biden had he been offered the opportunity, emphasizing a general respect for the office of the president.

Jelly Roll stated on the podcast that he does not consider himself political, explaining, "I didn't grow up in a voting culture. My father didn't push voting on me. My mother didn't push voting on me. They did push, 'respect our president' on me, though. That's the hardest job in the world. Respect whoever has it, you know?"

Jelly Roll is guest-hosting for Jimmy Kimmel all week while Kimmel is on his annual summer vacation. The artist recently announced a hiatus from performing for one to two years to focus on personal healing following his divorce from wife Alyssa "Bunnie XO" DeFord.
