Presenter Jeff Brazier became emotional while discussing his mental health journey, expressing a desire to apologize to his eldest son, Bobby, for maintaining a "fake" front during their upbringing. Brazier, 47, who raised Bobby, 23, and Freddy, 21, as a single father after the death of their mother, Jade Goody, in 2009, shared that he realized he was suppressing significant mental health challenges.

During a live recording of the podcast "Man Made" with Pete Wicks, Brazier recounted an experience at an alternative therapy retreat. On the final day, as participants shared their transformative experiences, Brazier felt unable to celebrate due to undisclosed personal difficulties. He described feeling "fake" and going through the motions until a group check-in allowed him to express his struggles.

"I had something going on at home that I know is difficult," Brazier stated. "So I'm not feeling particularly jubilant, celebratory, in fact, I feel fake. I'm going through the motions."

He explained that by naming his feelings, he was able to break down and receive support from others at the retreat who resonated with his experience. "It gave me the opportunity to name it first and foremost, so it's better out than in," he said. "Then I got the support from everybody else that was there."

Brazier then addressed his son Bobby, who was present at the event, saying, "I want to apologize to Bob almost, because he doesn't often see me upset." He expressed hope that by demonstrating vulnerability, he was teaching his son a valuable lesson about showing emotion. "I'm proud to be a man that can show emotion. I hope he feels that validation that if he ever needs to, he can too."

Since the podcast recording, Bobby has moved to New York, and Brazier has become a grandfather for the first time, as his son Freddie welcomed a daughter named Isla. Brazier also recently separated from his wife of seven years, Kate.
