Jax Taylor has been granted a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, through September 24, when a hearing is scheduled, according to documents reviewed by The Daily Mail.
This development follows Cartwright being granted a temporary restraining order against Taylor last week. The court has ordered Taylor to remain at least 100 yards away from Cartwright.
In a filing on Monday, Taylor requested that the court deny Cartwright's restraining order and mandate that she stay a minimum of 100 yards from him and his home. Taylor stated in his filing that Cartwright has "systematically 'disturbing the peace'" in his life over the past several months through "a deliberate campaign of indirect attacks carried out through third parties, the media, and electronic technologies."
Taylor claimed that over the last five months, Cartwright's actions have cost him professional opportunities, including a potential $175,000 role on the Fox show Special Forces. He also alleged that she informed the brand Smartwater that associating with him would be "awful for your company."
According to Taylor's filing, Cartwright also spread what he called falsities about his visitation of their five-year-old son, Cruz, on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live. He further stated that she called him "abusive" in a social media post and interfered with his efforts to collaborate with an autism-awareness nonprofit. Cartwright's alleged actions "caused at least two additional prospective business partners to walk away" from working with Taylor in August, including Carpe and the mental-health nonprofit Bring Change to Mind, he claimed.
Taylor denied all allegations made by Cartwright in her restraining order request. He sought his restraining order "without notice to Brittany" to prevent potential retaliation, stating in his filing, "I am genuinely afraid that if she is told in advance that I am doing this, she will retaliate by issuing a flood of denigrating statements on social media and every platform available to her."
Earlier, Cartwright had alleged years of abuse in a filing made in Los Angeles Superior Court, including alleged death threats from Taylor. In her declaration, Cartwright detailed an incident in July 2024 where she claims Taylor threatened to "gut" her and "f***ing kill her" while throwing furniture at her, resulting in her physical injury. She provided photos showing a swollen and bruised knee, allegedly from being struck by a coffee table Taylor threw. Cartwright also accused Taylor of breaking three of her phones and an iPad during that incident.
Cartwright's declaration also detailed accusations of "coercive control, financial abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, gaslighting and even physical violence." She further alleged that Taylor made "degrading and humiliating" comments about her in front of their son, Cruz, calling her names such as "fat ass b***h," "fatty," and "whore."
Taylor previously released a statement acknowledging past mistakes and expressing shame and regret for his behavior during a difficult period in his life, which he linked to his addiction. He stated he has been sober for over a year and nine months and remains committed to treatment and therapy. Taylor expressed surprise at the resurfacing of allegations from over two years ago, especially without police reports or criminal charges filed. He asserted that he strongly disputes the allegations and that the full context and evidence will be presented in court. Taylor concluded by stating his focus is on his sobriety, mental health, being a father to Cruz, and moving forward responsibly.
The former couple, who were together from 2015 to 2024, starred on Vanderpump Rules and The Valley. Taylor left The Valley last year to seek treatment for substance abuse and mental health issues. In July, it was reported that Taylor had begun dating Lori Krebs, described as Cartwright's "good friend" and former publicist. Cartwright called this relationship a "complete betrayal."
