Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem expressed pride not only in Spain's second World Cup victory but also in the way the team's players navigated an encounter with President Donald Trump during the trophy presentation ceremony. Bardem suggested Trump appeared to linger onstage, intending to be included in the team's moment of celebration.

During an interview with Zeteo's Mehdi Hasan, Bardem commented on the players' reaction to Trump's presence. "It was great how these players who was looking at him like, ‘No, we have to make the picture without you, and until you leave we’re not taking the picture,’” Bardem stated. He added, "So he had to leave, and I was very proud of that as well."

Bardem, married to Spanish actress Penélope Cruz, shared his admiration for the Spanish champions' actions. The interaction occurred during the trophy presentation following Spain's World Cup win. Trump has faced accusations in the past of attempting to make such public moments centered on himself.

Hasan also made a remark about FIFA President Gianni Infantino guiding Trump, drawing a comparison to an elder care setting. The discussion touched upon recent scrutiny of Trump's mental acuity, though it was noted he has not been diagnosed with any such condition. Bardem's comments reflect a sentiment that the players asserted control over their celebratory moment, ensuring it remained focused on their achievement.
