Actress Jane Seymour, 75, has revealed that while she maintains a "try anything" attitude toward fitness, yoga is an exception she avoids due to her competitive nature.
Seymour told Fox News Digital that her "A-type" personality makes group classes, particularly yoga, a challenge. "I want to win!" she explained, adding that this drive prevents her from practicing yoga, as she might push herself too hard. "I'll end up in the hospital or something," she admitted.
Instead, the Emmy winner focuses on a fitness regimen that she can adapt to her body's needs. Her preferred exercises include ballet barre, sit-ups, light weights, walking, Pilates, and Gyrotonics.
Seymour also shared her approach to diet, adhering to Mediterranean fare and moderating starch intake. She drinks alcohol in moderation, except when filming. The actress, who grows her own organic food and keeps chickens at her Malibu home, emphasizes listening to her body and avoiding the perception of being on a strict diet.
In addition to her acting career, Seymour is involved in various other ventures, including her scarf company, Jane Seymour Designs, and her charity, the Open Hearts Foundation. She is also writing a memoir.
Seymour, who became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2005, recently announced her engagement to musician John Zambetti. She has four children from previous marriages.
