James Wilkie Broderick, son of actors Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, recently made a statement clarifying his career intentions after being seen leaving a luxury gym in New York City.

Broderick, 23, was photographed at S10 Training and Recovery in the West Village, sporting athletic wear and Apple EarPods. Following the appearance, he used his Instagram story to address reports that he might be pursuing a modeling career. "I'm not tryna be a model lol!" he stated, while also expressing enthusiasm for the gym. "definitely not turning to a modeling career but hyped to show off the @s10training," he added in response to a post by Backgrid.

This statement comes after Broderick participated in a modeling shoot for artist Brad Walsh Abdallah's forthcoming book, FELLA: Images of Men. He had previously shared images from this shoot on June 1, describing it as "dope."

Broderick, a graduate of Brown University, recently returned from a trip to Ireland, which coincided with his recent off-Broadway acting role. He portrayed an Irishman named Joe in the play "This Lime Tree Bower," which ran from July 16 to August 1 at Quick Eternity in Lower Manhattan. His mother, Sarah Jessica Parker, recently shared her own experience with Irish baking, noting she had made her first brown Irish soda bread loaf.

The family's approach to their children's careers has been discussed by Parker. She told E. News last year that she and her husband, Matthew Broderick, aim for their children to pursue challenging and gratifying endeavors and to become self-sufficient. "You want for them to be pursuing things that are exciting and challenging and hard and gratifying," Parker said. "And [we want them] to be able to ultimately take care of themselves, support themselves - emotionally, financially - and that they can be in the world and be a reliable person to themselves and to other people. And so we talk about work like that."

Broderick also has twin 17-year-old sisters, Tabitha Hodge Broderick and Loretta Elwell Broderick. His father, Matthew Broderick, is set to appear in a staged reading of "The Big Chill" on August 31, and his mother, Sarah Jessica Parker, is slated to reprise her role in "Hocus Pocus 3."
