Jacob Tremblay, the now 19-year-old actor who captivated audiences at age eight with his performance in the 2015 psychological thriller "Room," has resurfaced in the spotlight. He appeared at a New York screening on Thursday for his new Netflix film, "Unabomber," alongside co-star Annabelle Wallis and director Janus Metz.

In "Unabomber," Tremblay takes on the starring role of a young Ted Kaczynski, the Harvard math prodigy who later became the domestic terrorist known as the Unabomber. The film, set to premiere on Netflix on September 25, chronicles Kaczynski's transformation from a promising student to a figure who terrorized the United States for nearly two decades. The narrative reportedly shifts between Kaczynski's time at Harvard and the extensive FBI manhunt that ensued.

Russell Crowe portrays Professor Henry Murray, who is said to have subjected Kaczynski to a psychologically abusive stress experiment during his time at Harvard. Tremblay, sporting tousled hair and a confident demeanor, was seen in a black dress shirt, black trousers, and black shoes at the screening, presenting a mature image from his child star days.

Tremblay's breakout role as Jack Newsome in "Room" earned him critical acclaim, including a Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer. Though "Room" received four Oscar nominations, Tremblay himself was not nominated, but his co-star Brie Larson won the Best Actress award.

Since "Room," the Canadian-born actor has maintained a consistent career with various film, voice, and television roles. He appeared in "Wonder" (2017), "The Book of Henry" (2017), "The Predator" (2018), and "Good Boys" (2019), among others. He has also lent his voice to animated projects such as "Luca" (2021), "The Little Mermaid" (2023), and "Orion and the Dark" (2024).

In June 2024, Tremblay shared photos from his high school graduation, drawing attention to his transition from child actor to young adult. Reflecting on his decade in the industry in a January 2024 interview, he stated, "It's definitely interesting, because I definitely am very experienced on set, but I feel like — even for the biggest stars in the world — there's always something to learn." He expressed enthusiasm for future projects and exploring diverse characters.
