Jackie, a bald eagle known for her presence in the Big Bear Valley nest cam, has died. The Ojai Raptor Center announced her passing on Monday, approximately one month after she was brought to the center for treatment.
Jackie had sustained injuries during a fight with two other birds. She was a prominent figure for many who followed the wildlife activity in California's Big Bear Valley through the nest's live camera feed. Her death marks the end of an era for many observers of the local wildlife.
