Crystal Hefner, the widow of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, has shared that actor Jack Nicholson frequently visited the Playboy Mansion, to the extent that it was once referred to as his 'drive-thru.' Hefner made these claims on her podcast, 'After The Mansion.'
'I think a lot of celebrities came because they were just curious and others used it as their personal country club,' Crystal Hefner stated. 'They used to call it Jack Nicholson’s drive-thru at one point because he would drive up, grab some food or whatever else he could get there and leave.'
Nicholson was known as one of the mansion's more frequent guests, according to People magazine. Hugh Hefner himself once commented on Nicholson and fellow actor Warren Beatty, noting, 'They both love women.'
Nicholson's daughter, Lorraine Nicholson, recounted her childhood experiences at the mansion in an essay for Vanity Fair. She described how her father had the privilege of arriving at the home at his leisure, stating, 'For the Hefners, I imagine it was nice to know that my father would never be like the other fathers, lingering a little too long after their children were dropped off... They didn’t have to worry about these things, because my father was on the list. Which meant that he could show up at the Mansion, without an invitation, at any time.'
Lorraine also suggested she spent more time at the mansion than her father. She explained that her nanny, Cis, who was Hefner's social secretary, brought her there. Her experiences at the mansion are reportedly being adapted into a film starring Jessica Biel and Lily-Rose Depp.
Crystal Hefner married Hugh Hefner on New Year's Eve 2012. She was previously a Playmate of the Month in 2009 and appeared on the E! series 'The Girls Next Door.' The couple remained together until Hefner's death in 2017. Following his death, Crystal received a $5 million lump sum and a house that she later sold for an additional $5 million.
Crystal has spoken about her regrets regarding the marriage, stating in an Instagram video that she regretted marrying Hefner in her mid-20s thinking it signified arrival, and that she had made herself smaller to fit into his world. She later eloped with tour company owner James Ward in April.
