Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has made two substitute appearances this season as questions linger about his future with the club. Grealish had been finding form during a loan spell at Everton, where he contributed two goals and six assists in 20 appearances before an injury sidelined him.

His performances at the start of the previous season saw him earn the Premier League's Player of the Month award for August, quickly establishing him as a fan favorite. However, there have been no concrete offers for Grealish this summer, according to City sources, making a return to Hill Dickinson Stadium the most viable option should he depart.

Everton has not yet initiated discussions or agreed on a deal, but the player remains a target for the club. Everton's chief executive, Angus Kinnear, told BBC Radio Merseyside that the club has maintained contact with Grealish. Kinnear noted that Grealish chose to complete his injury rehabilitation at Everton for the remainder of last season, an option he was not obligated to take as he could have returned to Manchester City.

"He is a player who has fallen in love with the right shade of blue, but ultimately he is a City player and we have to respect that," Kinnear stated. "What I do know is that the supporters and the team embraced him and treated him as one of our own. That gave us a good platform to have a longer term conversation with him."

Kinnear expressed his delight at seeing Grealish back on the field, stating, "The most important thing is that he is back fit after he had a serious injury, so I was delighted to see him get some minutes in the Community Shield."
