Author J.K. Rowling has taken measures to conceal the name of her superyacht, reportedly valued at £112 million, while it was docked in Los Angeles. The vessel, named 'Samsara,' had its signage covered last week in Marina Del Rey harbor, according to reports.

A local resident described the name covering as a precaution because the yacht "often attracts protesters." Another resident noted it was "the worst-kept secret on the marina."

Rowling, 61, has faced significant backlash since 2020 for her public statements regarding transgender activism and the rights of biological women. She has previously expressed "deep concerns" about the impact of transgender activism. The controversy led to public disagreements with actors from the Harry Potter film franchise, including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.

Last year, Rowling posted an image on her X account from the deck of the Samsara, celebrating a Supreme Court ruling that defined a woman based on biological sex. She captioned the post, "I love it when a plan comes together."

More recently, Rowling offered to fund legal action for female National Health Service (NHS) patients and staff challenging the policy allowing transgender women in women-only spaces. This offer came after a health trust stated that trans women could continue to use female wards, toilets, showers, and changing rooms.

The superyacht 'Samsara' was originally commissioned by LA businessman Eric Smidt, founder of Harbor Freight Tools. It was later sold to Australian billionaire Brett Blundy in 2022 before Rowling acquired ownership.
