Actor Iwan Rheon has highlighted the contemporary relevance of his new drama, "The Rapture," a heatwave thriller that is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer. Rheon, known for his role in "Game of Thrones," discussed the series' themes, noting that its exploration of societal responses to extreme weather events resonates with current global concerns.

Filming for the drama took place in Wales under what Rheon described as "changeable" weather conditions. The series, which has begun streaming, positions itself as a timely examination of societal pressures during periods of intense heat.

Beyond "The Rapture," Rheon has been involved in other projects. He recently shared the screen with Michael Sheen in the forthcoming British sci-fi comedy film "Out There." The movie centers on a teenage girl in 1999 Wales who suspects her father has been abducted by aliens. Filming for "Out There" occurred in Ceredigion.

Rheon also has a role in "The Mountain," a film shot on Anglesey. This movie follows a neglected young boy in 1980s Wales as he seeks friendship and community. "The Mountain" is directed by Celyn Jones, who also helmed "Madfabulous," a film about an eccentric 19th-century Welsh aristocrat, the Marquess of Anglesey.

Additional cast members in "The Mountain" include Scottish actor Peter Mullan and singer Rebecca Lucy Taylor, also known as Self Esteem. The production of these films reflects a diverse range of creative endeavors within Wales, spanning various genres and historical periods.
