ITV has canceled the fashion design competition show "M&S: Dress the Nation," co-hosted by AJ Odudu and Vernon Kay, after two seasons. The broadcaster confirmed the decision, stating that "Following two series of Dress the Nation, unfortunately we won't be commissioning another at this time." The show featured contestants competing to design clothing for Marks & Spencer, with celebrity advice from figures like David Gandy and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. ITV noted that it looks forward to continuing its work with M&S and South Shore on other projects, including "Cooking with the Stars."
This cancellation marks a second setback for Odudu, as "Celebrity Big Brother," which she co-hosts with Will Best, is reportedly being shelved. While ITV had previously indicated plans for the show to move to ITV2 in 2027 after a break in 2026, recent reports suggest it has been postponed indefinitely. The primary reasons cited are difficulties in securing high-profile celebrity contestants, with many reportedly opting for other reality programs like "The Traitors."
"Celebrity Big Brother," which originally premiered in 2001, has a history across multiple broadcasters. Securing a roster of contestants deemed suitable for the show's current iteration on ITV has become a significant challenge, particularly as ITV also needs to cast for "I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" and its spin-off. "Big Brother" is slated to return to ITVX and ITV2 later this year, but decisions regarding its 2027 schedule remain undecided, according to a spokesperson.
The prolonged absence of "Celebrity Big Brother" has fueled speculation about its long-term future, mirroring decisions made for other ITV programs. "Dancing on Ice" was also rested for the current year due to declining ratings and rising production costs. The civilian "Big Brother's" "Late & Live" spin-off was also canceled after a two-year run for not attracting sufficient viewership.
