Israeli intelligence officials suspect Iran transferred thousands of centrifuges, essential for uranium enrichment, to a deeply buried facility known as "Pickaxe Mountain" in the fall, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday. This move has heightened concerns that Tehran could quickly rebuild its nuclear program.
The intelligence has reportedly been shared with the United States, though it remains unclear what actions, if any, might follow.
"Pickaxe Mountain" is situated near the Natanz nuclear facility, which was targeted in U.S. airstrikes in June 2025. President Trump, in a recent interview, referred to "Pickaxe Mountain" as a potential target, stating it "a possible target for a nice, big, fat shot right in the front door."
