William Duker, a 72-year-old investor and former lawyer, has placed two high-value penthouses on the market for a combined $138 million. The properties are located in New York City's Tribeca and Miami's South Pointe.

Duker is selling his Miami penthouse triplex at the Apogee for $78 million and his Tribeca penthouse at the Sky Lofts for $59.5 million. He stated that he is organizing "this next phase of my life" and no longer needs residences of this scale.

The Miami unit, spanning the 22nd to 24th floors of the Apogee, offers 8,271 square feet of interior space and 13,146 square feet of outdoor space, including a private rooftop pool. The Tribeca penthouse features 7,500 square feet of living space with a 4,500-square-foot wraparound terrace and views of One World Trade Center.

Duker's professional history includes a significant role in recovering funds during the savings and loan scandal of the 1980s and 1990s. However, his career was impacted when he was convicted in 1997 for overcharging the government by $1.4 million while working for the FDIC and the Resolution Trust Corporation. He pleaded guilty to four felony counts, including making false statements and obstructing a federal audit, and served 33 months in prison, after which he was disbarred. The judge in his case was Sonia Sotomayor, who is now a Supreme Court Justice.

Following his prison sentence, Duker co-founded Amici, an electronic document discovery company that was acquired by Xerox in 2006 for $174 million. He purchased the Tribeca penthouse in 2009 for $30.5 million and the Miami penthouse in 2008 for $16 million. Both properties were acquired during the 2008-2009 financial crisis and subsequently renovated.

The Miami penthouse underwent a five-year build-out and features extensive amenities, including a rooftop terrace with alfresco dining, a spa, a sauna, and a summer kitchen. The Tribeca penthouse includes high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a wood-burning fireplace.

Duker's real estate and asset portfolio extends beyond these two penthouses, including properties in Italy and a superyacht. The sale of these penthouses may allow him more time to pursue other interests.
