Glamorous influencer Madalina Apostol has died at the age of 40, her boyfriend Nick Radoi confirmed Sunday. Radoi described her death as "a great pain" and "a tragedy that is hard to put into words."

Apostol, originally from Romania, had been struggling with her health in recent months, according to Radoi. She had reportedly been hospitalized for psychiatric care and battled depression. The content creator was also privately dealing with an autoimmune condition that caused severe pain.

"Madalina was an extraordinary person, a loving mother, a good-hearted person and with a deep faith in God," Radoi said. "She was loved, encouraged and supported until the very last moment. This is a cruel disease and only those who have ever had or are dealing with it can truly understand what it means. The disease came to take over her thoughts and her soul."

On her 40th birthday last month, Apostol shared a quote from Prince Hamlet's monologue in William Shakespeare's play: "I finally have the answer to the question that has followed me for so long: 'To be or not to be?' I choose to be, because the alternative was never my destiny."

The mom-of-three, who had a daughter aged 10 and two adult sons aged 22 and 19, had returned to Romania at the time of her death. An official cause of death has not yet been released.

Apostol, who split her time between Los Angeles and Mexico, had recently decided to pursue a quieter life away from cameras after a turbulent on-off relationship with Radoi. She had amassed a large following across social media platforms due to her lifestyle content.

Messages of condolence have flooded her social media channels. Her friend Bianca Dragusanu wrote, "Rest in peace. You were wonderful." Dragusanu also confirmed that Apostol's body would lie at a private cemetery in Bucharest from Tuesday, with the funeral scheduled for September 17.

An official cause of death has not yet been released. Resources for those struggling with mental health are available, including the 24/7 US National Suicide Prevention hotline at 988 or SuicidePreventionLifeline.org.
