Police have identified Chad Williams, 24, as the gunman who killed two people and wounded seven others in a shooting at an In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon. Williams died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks.
Hicks stated at a press conference on Sunday that two individuals, including an off-duty state trooper and a heroic armed citizen, actively engaged the shooter by returning fire. The investigation indicates Williams acted alone, and his family is cooperating with authorities.
The motive for the shooting remains unknown at this time. Williams' family expressed their heartbreak over the incident.
