Hunter Biden has officially nominated former President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing Trump's repeated claims of ending the war with Iran.
Biden posted on social media, stating, "No President in History has ended the same war so many times. Our Dear Leader has ended the war with Iran at least 38 times by CNN’s count. No President has ever done this before."
The White House did not appear to take the nomination seriously. A White House spokesman told HuffPost, "Just like Sleepy Joe, Hunter Biden’s brains are fried potatoes. We wish him and his family well during this difficult time."
Trump has frequently expressed his desire for the Nobel Peace Prize, having stated on multiple occasions that he believes he deserved the award. His aspirations for the prize have been a recurring theme during his public life, particularly after former President Barack Obama received the award in 2009.
Following his unsuccessful pursuit of the prize, Trump has made several public comments indicating his disappointment. In one instance, he was reportedly overheard lamenting to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he was not recognized for a U.S.-backed ceasefire plan in Gaza. "Do I get credit for it? No," he was quoted as saying.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino introduced a "FIFA Peace Prize" in December and awarded it to Trump. Additionally, Trump wrote to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in January, suggesting he might have been overlooked for the Nobel in 2025 due to his past initiative to acquire Greenland. The prime minister reportedly clarified that the Nobel Prizes are awarded by an independent committee, not the Norwegian government.
