Hunter Biden has publicly mocked Donald Trump Jr. and his new wife, Bettina, following reports that a Russian oligarch, identified as a friend of Vladimir Putin, helped finance their wedding festivities. The younger Biden took to social media platform X to comment on the situation, contrasting his own wedding with the Trumps'.

"Don Jr needed a Russian oligarch, two islands, and a fireworks show," Hunter Biden wrote, sharing a photo of himself with his wife, Melissa Cohen. "I got married on the rooftop of an apartment building in West Hollywood. It was so much cooler."

Bettina Trump addressed the reports on Instagram, posting photos from the celebration and referring to the Russian national, Umar Kremlev, as "our dear friend Umar." She stated that Kremlev "very generously hosted two incredible nights of celebrations for us" after the couple's private wedding ceremony.

According to reports, Kremlev allegedly provided financial assistance for the Trumps' nuptials, including the rental of a private island, a fireworks display, and other expenses. Bettina Trump clarified that the events funded by Kremlev were celebrations held after their wedding, emphasizing that "friendship doesn't require a political motive. Generosity doesn't automatically come with an agenda."

The couple reportedly had a private ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida, with 18 guests, followed by a reception for 50 people in the Bahamas. Donald Trump did not attend the wedding, citing national security responsibilities amid escalating tensions with Iran.

Kremlev's alleged involvement in financing the wedding has drawn scrutiny from House Oversight Democrats. Bettina Trump, who has stated she will be taking the Trump surname, pushed back against interpretations of the gift, calling it an "extraordinarily generous wedding gift from a friend."

She further stated that the weekend following their private wedding was planned in advance as a celebration with friends and was not intended to be the wedding weekend itself. The couple's marriage certificate confirmed their private ceremony took place at Bettina's sister's home in West Palm Beach. The private island celebration was described as a discreet, members-only sanctuary, accessible only by charter plane or boat, with accommodation costs starting at $1,400 per person per night.
