Hunter Biden, son of former President Joe Biden, stated in a recent interview that Vice President Kamala Harris is being given "bad political advice" but declined to fully explain his prior assessment of her as "not a very good politician."

During an interview on Zeteo, founder Mehdi Hasan pressed Biden on his previous remarks about Harris. Biden initially offered praise, saying Harris served the country "incredibly well" and has a "deep, rich future in politics," suggesting she would be a frontrunner if she ran for president again.

When Hasan followed up by asking, "But she's not a very good politician?" Biden responded, "No, and I think that the way that she's going about it right now is, at least from my perspective—." He began to elaborate, discussing the need for the administration to present a united front, but did not directly link this to Harris's political acumen.

Biden suggested that Harris should not have created "daylight" between herself and his father on issues like Gaza and Israel, though he later clarified that this was not about loyalty to his father. He stated, "I'm Hunter Biden. I get to think whatever the hell that I want to think about anybody."

Pressed again by Hasan to explain why he believes she is not a good politician, Biden replied, "That's between me and her." He further commented, "Because I ain't running for anything, Mehdi, I can say whatever the f--- I want."

Biden also addressed perceptions of Harris's loyalty to his father, stating he did not believe she was loyal "to a fault." He noted that her recent appearances and writings suggest she has tried to distance herself from the former president, indicating "not like this 100%."

Later in the interview, Biden expressed a desire for Harris to become President of the United States, stating, "I would love for her to be President of the United States. I think she would make a great President of the United States." He reiterated his core criticism: "I just think that right now, she's getting bad political advice. That's it."

Harris's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Some political observers have suggested that Harris faced challenges in establishing a distinct political identity while maintaining loyalty to the Biden administration, potentially struggling to articulate her own policy positions.
