Hunter Biden has identified Scott Jennings, a political commentator, as the individual who most irritates him, describing the pundit as a "jackass."
Biden made the remarks during a live airing of former CNN anchor Jim Acosta's show, stating, "Oh my God, he’s the biggest jackass I’ve ever... there’s no one that gets under my skin more than Scott Jennings."
The conversation arose during a discussion about White House aide Natalie Harp. Biden argued that the media has a right to investigate the relationship between Harp and former President Donald Trump, despite objections from some conservatives.
"There is no way that this is not an appropriate issue, and it is the hypocrisy of them saying, ‘Oh, well, this, this young woman, you’re trying to ruin her life.’ No one’s trying to ruin anybody’s life. We’re trying to get to the answers of why this relationship exists the way that it does," Biden said. "It is strange. It is inappropriate in many senses, and it should be answered, and it’s a legitimate question."
Biden specifically called out what he perceived as hypocrisy from MAGA supporters, including Jennings, for defending Harp while Trump has frequently criticized female reporters. "And none of these people, like Scott Jennings on CNN, had any problem with that. They don’t find any problem with that," Biden added.
Acosta questioned Jennings' reliability, and Biden further elaborated on his frustration, particularly regarding recent scrutiny over Jennings' remarks about his contact with Senator Mitch McConnell. When asked on CNN about the last time he spoke with McConnell, Jennings reportedly replied, "It’s been several days. A couple of weeks." Biden expressed skepticism, demanding, "Show me the phone log." He continued, "He could end the debate about whether he did it, but he’s full of shit, and we all know it."
Jennings, who has been mentioned as a potential replacement for former press secretary Karoline Leavitt, previously addressed rumors about the role when questioned by Kaitlan Collins, saying, "I don’t really have anything to say about it other than, I mean, I would get to see you every day."
