Human remains were discovered Wednesday evening in the vicinity where Angelica Brophy, an ER nurse and mother from California, mysteriously vanished last month. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the finding and stated that a search and investigation would commence Thursday morning.
The remains have not yet been officially identified as Brophy's. The discovery was made near Palomar Mountain State Park, an area that has been the focus of searches for the missing mother. Brophy was last seen on July 6.
Investigators were unable to enter the search area on Wednesday evening due to challenging terrain and the approaching darkness. The Sheriff's Department planned to resume efforts the following day.
