Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster made a public appearance at the Ogunquit Playhouse's gala benefit in Maine on Wednesday, several weeks after reports emerged suggesting their relationship had encountered difficulties. Foster, 51, wore a sparkling yellow and gold gown, while Jackman, 57, was seen in a brown satin suit.
During the event, Foster, a two-time Tony Award winner, performed and later invited Jackman to join her on stage for a duet. This marked their first joint live performance since they shared the Broadway stage in "The Music Man."
The couple first met while starring in the 2022 revival of "The Music Man." Jackman announced his separation from his wife of 27 years, Deborra-Lee Furness, in early 2024. His relationship with Foster was revealed months later, and they publicly confirmed it in January 2025.
In June, reports indicated that Jackman and Foster were facing challenges in balancing their careers and personal lives. An insider told Woman's Day that the couple was lacking "quality time together" and had "hit a major roadblock." The source alleged that Jackman's demanding work schedule led Foster to empathize with what his ex-wife may have experienced. The insider also noted Foster's own busy career and her responsibility in raising her nine-year-old daughter, Emily Dale, with her ex-husband, screenwriter Ted Griffin.
Jackman has several film projects in development, including lead roles in "The Sheep Detectives," "The Death Of Robin Hood," and a remake of "Treasure Island," in which he is slated to play Long John Silver. He was recently criticized by some fans on social media after posting a photograph with Foster at the premiere of his latest film, with some comments expressing disapproval of their relationship.
