A House committee has issued a subpoena for Leon Black, the co-founder of Apollo Global Management, as part of an inquiry into his past dealings with Jeffrey Epstein. The subpoena was issued by the House Oversight Committee.

Black has previously stated that he did not participate in Epstein's sex-trafficking scheme. However, he has declined to discuss non-disclosure agreements he may have signed with women. The committee's interest in Black stems from reports detailing his financial ties and interactions with Epstein, who was convicted of sex offenses.

Apollo Global Management is an investment management firm founded by Black, Marc Rowan, and Josh Harris in 1990. The firm has grown into a major player in private equity and credit markets. Black stepped down as CEO of Apollo in March 2021 but remained on the board and continued in a senior partner role until recently. The ongoing scrutiny from the House committee highlights persistent questions surrounding Black's relationship with Epstein and the extent of his knowledge and involvement in Epstein's activities.
