Holland Taylor has shared that her and Sarah Paulson’s demanding professional lives are the reason they have not yet moved in together, despite being a couple for 11 years.

"We do as much time as we possibly can, because work takes us apart constantly," Taylor stated on a recent episode of "The Drew Barrymore Show." She elaborated that Paulson stays at Taylor’s New York apartment when she is in the city, and they reside together there when both are present. Taylor, 83, added that Paulson, 51, has a separate house that remains unoccupied by her after nearly a year.

Paulson had previously discussed the couple’s living arrangements in a 2024 appearance on the podcast "SmartLess." She described their approach as spending time together when they wish to, but not necessarily living in the same home. "We’ve been together for a long time now and I think part of it has to do with, we’re together when we wanna be and we’re not when we don’t," she explained.

Taylor and Paulson first met in 2005, but their romantic relationship began in 2015. Taylor publicly acknowledged dating a significantly younger woman that year, noting the age difference but stating, "If she dies, she dies." Their relationship was confirmed by sources shortly thereafter.

Paulson has previously addressed the age gap, telling Town & Country in 2018, "My choices in life have been unconventional, and that’s my business. But I do want to live responsibly and truthfully without hiding."

Regarding marriage, Taylor has indicated that it has not been a topic of interest for the couple. "It doesn’t seem to mean to [us] what it means to a lot of people," she said in 2024 on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show, although she also stated they would marry if they desired to.
